A coroner’s inquiry is underway in Montreal into the death of Normand Meunier, a quadriplegic man who opted for medical assistance in dying (MAiD) after developing a severe bedsore during a hospital stay.
Normand Meunier's public hearings: "I've never seen a wound like this in my entire career," says a nurse.
"I have never seen a plague of such a magnitude in my entire career." These are the words of Ecaterina Clefas, a nurse who testified on Monday during the first day of the public hearings on the death of Normand Meunier. The man received medical assistance in dying in March 2024 after having developed a bed wound at the Hospital of Saint-Jérôme.
