Be.EV to Install Over 200 Ultra-Rapid EV Charging Bays at Schroders Capital Properties
- On Monday, Schroders Capital and Be. EV revealed a collaboration to deploy more than 200 high-speed electric vehicle charging points across 22 retail and leisure locations managed by Schroders throughout the UK.
- The deal follows increasing UK EV registrations projected to grow by 31% in 2025 and aims to support enhanced footfall at prominent retail sites managed by Schroders Capital.
- Be. EV will fully finance and manage the installation of Kempower ultra-rapid chargers—offering up to 300kW and capable of providing 325 miles of driving range in 20 minutes—across retail and leisure sites supported by a portfolio of five real estate funds overseen by Schroders Capital.
- The new charging hubs will operate under 20-year leases with index-linked rents, featuring six to 12 bays per location, and host retailers including Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Costa Coffee, and IKEA.
- Schroders Capital views this as a key step aligned with net zero targets and UK energy transition goals, expecting long-term income and growing benefits for occupiers as EV adoption rises.
