Cathedral City man admits to setting multiple fires and is sentenced to prison

INDIO, Calif. (KUNA) - A 51-year-old man who caused nearly a dozen small forest fires in rapid succession around Cathedral City was sent today to a state prison to serve a six-year, eight-month sentence after pleading guilty to 10 counts of arson. José Hernández, a resident of Cathedral City, admitted serious crimes during a conciliation conference at Larson Justice Center in Indio on Wednesday. The charges were not dismissed.
