Nacogdoches native Cermodrick Bland woke up Wednesday morning to some exciting news: he had been named Southland Conference Freshman of the Year.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks center fielder Cermodrick Bland has been named the SLC Freshman of the Year, the conference announced Wednesday. Bland is coming off a massive year at the plate in which he led the team with a .356 batting average and was second on the Lumberjacks with a .913 OPS.
