The City of Lorraine kicked off the soft season with its popular Gardening Week held from May 8 to 13. For the occasion, the City Council distributed 700 boxes of various plants to citizens.

City asking for volunteers for Mile of Flowers Plant-In

The city of Courtenay is looking for people to plant flowers for an upcoming event. Called Mile of Flowers, it’s a yearly event where residents plant summer flowers in garden beds on both sides of Cliffe Avenue from 8th to 21st Streets. This year marks the events 58-year anniversary. The city says they’re in need of volunteers this year, especially youth groups, with hopes of getting between 200 to 500 of them.
