U.S. Army combat veteran Joe Mickelsen supervises the installation of two new plaques that Mickelsen funded for the Veterans Memorial Wall. The plaques list Medal of Honor recipients tied to Vallejo and veterans from World War I.

In May 2025, it will be not only 80 years since the Nazis capitulated, and Norway became free. This is against a backdrop of a major war in Europe, refugees and uncertainty. Nils Aarland laid a wreath at the graves of those who fell from Møkster parish in the World War and reminded those present of this.
