Cooking gas price hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder for Ujjwala, general consumers
The government of India has increased the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 50, taking the cost for Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries from Rs 500 to Rs 550, and for general users from Rs 803 to Rs 853. Union petroleum minister Hardeep Puri stated the hike aims to offset oil marketing companies' Rs 43,000 crore losses.

Cooking gas or LPG price has been hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder, Union Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Monday. The price has been increased for both subsidised and general category customers.
