Colapinto Starts From Zero for Alpine Debut

Argentine driver Franco Colapinto will step in for Jack Doohan at the Renault-owned Alpine team beginning with this weekend’s Emilia-Romagna Formula One race held at the Imola track in Italy, competing in six events.
Colapinto earned this seat after impressing as a Williams substitute last season where he scored five points in nine races and became Argentina's first F1 driver in 23 years.
Colapinto acknowledged starting from zero in a new car, said he felt rusty, and emphasized his goal to work with Alpine beyond fulfilling his dream during his debut preparation.
He will compete in six races before Alpine assesses his performance, and despite the challenges, Colapinto said, "It's still my dream come true" but focused on team goals as well.
