In Hvar, diesel spilled into the sea, pollution reaches all the neighboring islands

The Croatian island of Hvar has been hit by a major ecological disaster. As explained in the company Ina, at their marine gas station in the bay of Križna luka at night there was a sudden leakage of diesel fuel from the tank. According to unofficial information from Croatian media, as many as 17 tons of fuel leaked into the sea. There has been fuel pollution in the sea on Hvar, caused by a spill from an Ina tank. All emergency services are on the ground, eliminating the consequences of the damage.

Police received information about the ecological accident from the crowd when fuel from the Ina gas station spilled into the sea.

An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.

In the town of Hvar, a pipe burst this morning, spilling oil into the sea, where 17 tons of oil reportedly ended up.

The pollution was detected outside the area of the port of Hvar and extends over about 8 hectares, or approximately 80,000 square meters.
