FAAC: Nigerian Govt, States, LGAs Share N1.681 Trillion in April
- In April 2025, a total of N1.681 trillion was shared among Nigeria’s federal, state, and local governments by the revenue-sharing committee.
- The increased distribution was attributable to higher revenue inflows from key sectors, including substantial growth in taxes and levies related to oil production, value-added tax, and electronic transaction charges, occurring alongside inflationary pressures and currency instability.
- In April, the total gross revenue amounted to N2.848 trillion, from which N101.051 billion was subtracted as collection expenses and an additional N1.066 trillion allocated for transfers, refunds, and savings prior to distribution.
- Out of the total revenue of N1.681 trillion distributed, N565.307 billion was allocated to the Federal Government, N556.741 billion to the states, N406.627 billion to local government councils, and oil-producing states obtained N152.553 billion as their 13% derivation allocation.
- The enhanced allocation introduced in April provides budgetary support for all government tiers, supporting initiatives to maintain financial stability during current economic reforms and spending challenges.
