Fatal accidents at work: "We increase the workload in the name of client satisfaction"

Véronique Daubas-Letourneux, a sociologist specializing in occupational health and a researcher at the Ecole des hautes études en santé publique, is studying the issue of death at work in France. She describes a problem that is often invisibility in a country where efficiency regularly prevails over safety.

The government's expert group on occupational accidents has been investigating occupational and fatal accidents in agriculture for a year and points in particular to a lack of safety around agricultural machinery as the culprit. The Minister of Employment has taken the first step based on the recommendations.
