Jan Terlouw, author of children's books and former deputy prime minister of the Netherlands, has died at the age of 93. "He passed away last night at home, peacefully, surrounded by his family," his daughter reports. Terlouw is known for books such as Koning van Katoren, Oorlogswinter and Oosterschelde windkracht 10. He was also the leader of the social-liberal party D66 between 1974 and 1982.
