Karácsony writes to the European Commission asking it to block the application of the so-called transparency law

According to the mayor, the law against civil society organizations and press products could be suspended with the intervention of the European Court of Justice.

According to the mayor, the proposal submitted by János Halász targets the independent press and civil society organizations, and therefore he asks the European Commission to immediately request the suspension of the law from the European Court of Justice after its adoption.

Tamás Lánczi reacted to the mayor's latest outburst by saying that it was pointless to run to the European Commission, as Hungarian representatives would decide on the law in the Parliament.

The mayor of Budapest announced that during his talks in Brussels today, Thursday, he will request that the European Commission ask the European Court of Justice to immediately suspend the implementation of the law if a law that hinders citizens and the free press is passed. Karácsony also wrote a letter to the European Commission.
