After the failure against Switzerland the German ice hockey team shows a strong catch-up in the preliminary round match against the Americans after a weak third. Nevertheless, it sets a 3:6 defeat, which leads to some pressure.

The German ice hockey men first made a wrong start at the World Cup against the USA, then balanced out – and lost in the end anyway. However, the team still has their own hand in the K.-o. round.
