Finanzamt Braunau: WKStA sues ÖVP-Klubobmann Wöbinger

The corruption prosecutor's office accuses the ÖVP-Klubobmann of abuse of office. Two officials of the Ministry of Finance are charged with him. Wöglinger asserts his innocence.

The Business and Corruption Prosecutor's Office brought charges against August Wöbinger on charges of abuse of office. He is said to have intervened for an ÖVP mayor in the later leniency witness Thomas Schmid.

The WKStA brought an indictment against August Wöglinger and two officials at the Regional Court of Linz for abuse of office. Despite clear bias, Wöglinger is said to have helped a party friend to the board post of the tax office Braunau.
