It is still unclear how much the EU member states will invest extra in defence over the next four years. This was stated by European Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis (Economy) after a meeting with the EU finance ministers. The European Commission hopes for 650 billion euros, partly through relaxation of the EU budget rules.
