Rabobank’s US-based senior dairy analyst Lucas Fuess made no bones about the fact that the US will be competing more strongly against Australia and the “big seven” dairy regions in the world on the global market when it comes to cheese and powdered milk products.

Last year dairy production grew by 2% and 20% since the end of quotas and recently the margins of farms exceed 20%. The dairy production of large intensive farms gains ground and there is optimism despite the fact that in this year deliveries have fallen somewhat due to the high demand and good prices of the animals of old age for meat.
