How to disable Microsoft Recall (yes, you can turn it off)

On May 9, 2025, Microsoft unveiled a variety of AI-driven enhancements across its apps and settings tailored for Windows 11 users, particularly focusing on devices equipped with Copilot+ technology.
These updates follow ongoing efforts to integrate AI agents that help users find and change settings using natural language and automate tasks with permission.
Key enhancements include AI actions in File Explorer for editing and summarizing files, upgraded Snipping Tool with text extraction and color picking, and dynamic lighting controls in Photos and Paint apps.
Navjot Virk, CVP of Windows Experiences, explained that an agent leverages AI running locally on the device to interpret what you want to do and, with your approval, carry out and manage tasks automatically.
The rollout will start with testers using Snapdragon-based Copilot+ devices through the Windows Insider program and will later extend to systems running on AMD and Intel processors, indicating a wider adoption of AI features in Windows 11 soon.
