Million-dollar hit against nitrous oxide company – taxed by the Swedish Tax Agency

Several nitrous oxide companies have been hit with a tax bill. The reason: Nitrous oxide is reported as food production, for example to make whipped cream, when according to the Swedish Tax Agency it is sold for the purpose of intoxication. “We have been able to track Swish payments that have been made at night,” says Erik Lundh, section manager at the Swedish Tax Agency.
