News24 | Carletonville United Taxi Association cracks down on errant drivers with strict fines

If your taxi driver swears at you or any other passengers, they could be slapped with a R1 500 fine. And if they are thinking of sipping an alcoholic beverage at the taxi rank or going to work without bathing, it will set them back R3 000.

Tougher taxi rules on the way

The government plans to require extra training for drivers, taxi meters and special coloured license plates among other measures.
