‘Flyer at heart’ Rick Tocchet returning to his roots as head coach

Rick Tocchet is finalizing a multi-year coaching deal to become the new head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2025.
Tocchet, a former Flyers star who played 11 seasons with 232 goals, returns after parting ways with the Canucks following his contract expiry.
He has previously served as head coach for three NHL teams, guided the Canucks to a season with 50 victories and a top spot in the Pacific Division, and earned the Jack Adams Award for the 2023-24 season.
The reported five-year deal is worth $25 million, and Tocchet said, "The Flyers helped me become a man," during his 2021 Hall of Fame induction speech.
