Palworld Patching Out More Gameplay Features As It Seeks To Invalidate Nintendo/Pokémon Patents

Pocketpair announced that Palworld will receive a Terraria-themed update called Tides of Terraria during summer 2025 across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
The update follows Pocketpair's removal of several features, including Pal-based gliding, due to Nintendo's ongoing lawsuit alleging patent infringement on Pokemon-like mechanics.
Tides of Terraria will introduce new Pals and islands, and allow players to catch, train, fight, and work Terraria monsters within Palworld's multiplayer environment.
A mod named Glider Restoration by fan Primarinabee restores Palworld's removed gliding feature, letting players see Pals perform gliding when a glider item is equipped, although it is not fully perfect.
The update's rollout and future patches will continue cautiously due to legal constraints, but Pocketpair plans to share more details on social media over the next few weeks.
