#Turkey’s broadcasting and streaming regulator has imposed administrative fines on two television stations over their coverage of a recent physical attack on the main opposition leader.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) decided to impose administrative fines from the upper limit on 6 television channels that it found to have committed various broadcasting violations in its latest meeting. According to the statement made by RTÜK, the reasons for the fines include false news, violation of the principle of impartiality, secret commercial communication and exceeding teleshopping periods.
