Sabrina Ionescu to finally get Oregon closure as champ with Liberty following COVID letdown
Sabrina Ionescu couldn’t hold it in anymore. After the final horn and as celebration ensued, she collapsed at center court, lay on her back and held her head in disbelief. She then cried as streamers rained down on the court. Ionescu — five years into her WNBA career — helped deliver the Liberty their first championship last October. The series win provided validation, redemption and, perhaps most importantly, peace.
