Slade Cecconi to be reinstated from IL and make Guardians debut by starting Saturday at Reds

Slade Cecconi will come off the 15-day injured list to make his Cleveland debut as the starting pitcher Saturday in Cincinnati against the Reds.
Cecconi replaces Ben Lively in the rotation after Lively was placed on the injured list Tuesday with the first significant injury to a Guardians starter this year, a right forearm strain.
The 27-year-old Cecconi, who came to the Guardians from Arizona last December as part of the deal that sent first baseman Josh Naylor the other way, missed time due to a left oblique strain and made three rehab starts in the minor leagues.
In his rehab outings, Cecconi pitched 13 innings with a 4.85 ERA, recorded 10 strikeouts, allowed two walks, and went 0-2, according to manager Stephen Vogt.
Cecconi's reinstatement allows the Guardians to fill Lively’s spot and continue their pitching rotation with Luis Ortiz scheduled to start Sunday against the Reds.
