Qualcomm Launches Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with a Big Jump in AI Performance

Qualcomm has introduced its latest midrange chipset, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which offers notable enhancements in performance compared to the previous generation.
This launch follows the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 release in 2023, which powered devices from Honor and Vivo, and marks Qualcomm's continued focus on enhancing AI capabilities in midrange processors.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 delivers a 65% boost in AI performance, a 30% faster GPU, a 27% higher CPU speed, supports 200-megapixel cameras, 4K HDR video, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and advanced image processing features.
Chris Patrick, Qualcomm’s senior vice president, said the platform brings “new levels of possibilities” with AI-driven experiences and expands premium audio with Snapdragon Sound and XPAN technology.
Honor and Vivo will be the first to integrate the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in upcoming devices announced this month, indicating wider adoption of advanced AI and multimedia features in mid-tier smartphones.
