The 26th European Whitewater Slalom Championships will begin today with team competitions on the Olympic course in Paris. Slovenian kayakers and canoeists are defending their three gold medals from the previous championship in Tacen. Today, the canoeists and kayakers begin their title defense.

13-year-old Julie Kerim is the only Norwegian athlete at the European Championships in Germany.
