Bay City Book Review celebrates its 90th year

BAY CITY — One of Bay City’s oldest literary traditions marked a major milestone this week, as the Bay City Book Review Club celebrated its 90th anniversary with a special event at the First Presbyterian Church.

The Clermont Paper Workers Union, affiliated to the Confederation of National Trade Unions (CSN), is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, after being founded on June 16, 1935. At the time, the union was called Syndicats Catolici et Nationaux de Saint-Philippe de Clermont. Negotiation of the first collective agreement officially began 10 years later, in 1945.
