The Painted Gold and the Painting of El Greco Between Crete and Venice

At Palazzo Ducale in Venice, a large exhibition (until 29 September 2025) tells of the intense artistic relations between the Serenissima and Crete, from the fall of Constantinople (1453) to the threshold of the nineteenth century. In an evocative union between the Byzantine East and the Latin West, exhibited the works of numerous artists, including the figure of Domenikos Theotokopoulos called El Greco.
