The SHOA Assures that Strong Earthquake in Rapa Nui Will Not Cause Tsunamis on the Coasts of Mainland Chile

The Navy's Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service, SHOA, ruled out the possibility of a tsunami on the coasts of mainland Chile, following the strong telluric movement that took place on Easter Island. It was an earthquake of magnitude 5.0, 1.002 kilometers south of Rapa Nui, however, the SHOA ruled out the possibility of a tsunami that does not meet the necessary conditions to generate this phenomenon.
