The spirit of Vincent van Gogh meanders through the tree bark of Jo Koster

Jo Koster's work is not visible enough in the permanent collections of Dutch museums. But now there is a beautiful overview exhibition in Museum Gouda. One work in particular is to be hoped that it will ultimately remain in Gouda.

He spent 70 days there, but painted no fewer than 74 canvases. One hundred and thirty-five years after his death, the artist's soul still lives on in this pretty village in the Val d'Oise.
