The War Impoverished the Indigenous Peoples of Guatemala

We are accustomed to evaluating wars in terms of dead, wounded and missing persons. Undoubtedly, quantitative data on the lives of human beings are important. But under the numbers, other realities appear, such as the destruction of community ties, the disappearance of popular organizations and the widespread impoverishment of indigenous peoples.
