US EditionCentral Okanagan Hospice Association hosts National Palliative Care Week
- From May 4 to 10, a series of complimentary events will be held in Kelowna, British Columbia, to commemorate National Hospice Palliative Care Week, organized by the local hospice association serving the Central Okanagan region.
- COHA organized this week to raise awareness and provide support for people facing serious illness, caregiving, or grief through educational and community gatherings.
- The events feature two community information sessions led by Cheryl Sewell, scheduled for May 5 at the West Kelowna Library and May 7 at the Lake Country Library, followed by an open house on May 8 held at a location in Kelowna.
- COHA said the sessions will explain hospice care principles, care navigation in the Central Okanagan, and offer details on programs that provide comfort and dignity to families.
- These accessible, no-cost events support community education on palliative care and aim to strengthen connections for those affected by serious health challenges.
