Saugeen Shores Council’s April 28 decision not to “greedy” likely saved the popular Port Elgin and District Lion’s Club weekly bingo and the Port Elgin Legion ‘s bingo and meat draws. Officials with both groups told the mayor they would stop running the fundraisers, which raise money for community needs, because of the new lottery licencing fees.
