Two new outbreaks detected; FDA searching for source of pathogens
The FDA is investigating two new outbreaks of foodborne illnesses. The sources of the pathogens have not yet been determined. An outbreak of Salmonella Montevideo infections has been detected, with 17 patients confirmed so far. The Food and Drug Administration has not released any information about the patients ages or where they live. The agency has initiated traceback, but has not reported what food it is tracing.
