Vitoria-Gasteiz Will Remove the Names of Five People Linked to the 1936 Coup and Francoism From Its Street Names

The names of the streets Vicente Abreu, Carmelo Ballester Nieto, Juan de la Cierva, Jose Lejarreta and Carlos Saez de Tejada will be changed by the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council. The Plenary of Vitoria City Council has agreed to remove from the street of the city the names of five streets within a year, whose people were promoters of the military coup, Civil War and dictatorship.
