General Assembly Passes Resolution to Observe Saturday as Armed Forces Day in Delaware
The Delaware General Assembly has unanimously passed House Concurrent Resolution 53 which recognizes Saturday, May 17 as Armed Forces Day in Delaware. The day was created in August of 1949 by Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson and first observed on May 20, 1950. Armed Forces Day was declared a national holiday in 1961 by President John F.
