USACE Suspends Permit On Mid-Barataria Diversion Project
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) officially suspended a permit issued for the Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority’s (CPRA) Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion project being developed in Plaquemines Parish. In a letter sent to CPRA’s chairman Gordon Dove on April 25, USACE Colonel Cullen Jones explained that a variety of changing circumstances and apparent violations lead to the agency making this decision.
