Slain Plainfield officer tribute to be dedicated

Officer William Meadows of Plainfield, who was killed in the line of duty when investigating a Plainfield burglary in 1961, will be honored with a memorial bench next to the town’s Veterans Memorial.

Communities across the United States will come together this month to honor and remember law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as the families, friends and fellow officers they left behind.
